CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (ST AIDAN’S ROAD AND WARWICK SQUARE, CARLISLE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road.
- St Aidan’s Road, Carlisle, from its junction with Victoria Place, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 10m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of St Aidan’s Road, Warwick Road and Victoria Place.
- Warwick Square, Carlisle, from its northern junction with Aglionby Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 10m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Warwick Square, Warwick Road and Aglionby Street.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 23 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 1 day, between 0930 and 1530 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
