What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 PART OF ROAD TO
HANGING GRIMSTON, KIRBY UNDERDALE
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of
road to Hanging Grimston, Kirby Underdale heading
northbound along Gatehowe Road to its junction with
Roman Road heading east to the junction of Uncleby
Hill proceeding onto Painsthorpe Lane.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
part of road to Hanging Grimston, Kirby Underdale to
install ducting and chambers for the new fibre network,
to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within
five days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the Order is via Howe Lane, Uncleby Hill, Roman Road
and Gatehowe Road, Thixendale CP, Kirby Underdale
CP, Wolds Weighton Ward. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 6 July 2026 and continue
in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months
or until the works which it is proposed to carry out
have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further
