THE CARRIAGEWAY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an
Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding
on the following stretches of road:
l Ettingshall Road closed from its junction with Meadow Lane to its junction with
Hurst Road. It is anticipated that the restriction will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Shaw Road, Birmingham New Road, Rookery Road and vice versa.
l Ettingshall Road closed from its junction with Parkfield Road to its junction with
Bilston Road. It is anticipated that the restriction will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Millfields Road, Coseley Road, Black Country Route, Oxford Street,
Wellington Road, Bilston Road and vice versa.
l Steelhouse Lane closed from its junction with Bilston Road to its junction with
Cable Street. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Dixon Street, Bilston Road and vice versa.
l Darlaston Lane closed from its junction with Willenhall Road and Black Country route. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Willenhall Road, Mount Pleasant, Lichfield Street, Oxford Street, Black County Route
and vice versa.
l Hunters Close closed at its junction with Darlaston Lane. Access/egress maintained. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Lunt Road closed at its junction with Darlaston Lane. Access/egress maintained. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Bickley Road closed at its junction with Darlaston Lane. Access/egress maintained. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Wrenbury Drive closed at its junction with Darlaston Lane. Access/egress maintained.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Bilston Road closed from its junction with Moseley Road to its junction with The Keyway.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Willenhall Road, Mount Pleasant, Lichfield Street, Oxford Street, Black County Route
and vice versa.
l Moseley Road closed from its junction with Willenhall Road to its junction with
Waite Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Willenhall Road, The Keyway, Bilston Road, Moseley Road and vice
versa.
l Evans Street closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Marshall Road closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Uplands Road closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Alcester Drive closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Stubbington Close closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Hill Road closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be maintained. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Prouds Lane closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be
maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Waite Road closed at its junction with Moseley Road. Access/Egress to be maintained.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 19 June 2026 and
3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
l Warstones Road from its junction with Coalway Road to its junction with
Stourbridge Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
19 June 2026 and 3 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Stourbridge Road, Penn Road, Coalway Road and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that
the works will be undertaken between the dates detailed above, between the times
detailed, with one closure in operation at any one time.
The Order is required to facilitate surface treatment and remedial works in the
carriageway.
