PROPOSAL TO MAKE AMENDMENTS TO FREE LIMITED STAY PARKING PLACES AND TAXI STOPPING AREA IN ALBERT EMBANKMENT
(This notice is about proposed amendments to free limited stay parking places, taxi stopping areas and “at any time” waiting restrictions in Albert Embankment.)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth proposes to make The Lambeth (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be further to amend the Lambeth (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) Order 2023, so that:-
(a) the existing taxi stopping area adjacent the Park Plaza Hotel, Albert Embankment would be redesignated to the service road fronting Nos. 9 to 20 Albert Embankment, the east side, from a point 6.00 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Salamanca Street, to a point 17.00 metres south of that kerb-line;
(b) the existing free limited stay parking place adjacent the Park Plaza Hotel, Albert Embankment would be redesignated to the service road fronting Nos. 9 to 20 Albert Embankment the east side, from a point 26.20 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Salamanca Street to a point 38.90 metres south-west of that kerb-line;
(c) waiting by vehicles (including for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) will be prohibited at any time in the service road fronting Nos. 9 to 20 Albert Embankment, the east side, from a point 17 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Salamanca Street, southward for a distance of 9.20 metres;
(d) the existing prohibition on waiting by vehicles for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle would be revoked in the service road fronting Nos. 9 to 20 Albert Embankment, the east side, from a point 6 metres south of the southern kerb-line of Salamanca Street for a distance of 2.60 metres;
(e) specify that:
(i) the free limited stay parking place will operate between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive;
(ii) the free limited stay parking place may be used, subject to the provisions of the Order, for the leaving of such vehicles as are passenger vehicles, goods vehicles or motorcycles;
(iii) the maximum initial period for which a vehicle may be left during the permitted hours will be 30 minutes;
(iv) the interval before a vehicle may again be left in a parking place after the expiration of the initial period will be 2 hours;
(v) the taxi stopping area may be used, subject to the provisions of the Order for the leaving of taxis, will operate at any time and will be free of charge.

5. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made (quoting reference Albert Embankment 150), and can be made using our consultation portal at https://streets.appyway.com/lambeth or sent by post to Parking and Enforcement Group (Parking, Network Management & Fleet), London Borough of Lambeth, PO Box 80771, London, SW2 9QQ or by email TMOReps@lambeth.gov.uk within 21 days from the date on which this Notice is published. Any objection may be communicated to, or seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.
