Fountain Street - Temporary Road Closure Due To Highway Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL. (FOUNTAIN STREET, ULVERSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Fountain Street, from its junction with Tarn Side, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 170 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the B5281 Town Bank Road, A5092, A590, Canal Street and Hart Street.

The Order will come into operation on 25th June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
