SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL

THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON

(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT 5) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL proposes to make the above Order, the effects of which would be:

  1. To add the Multi-storey Car Park fronting Portland Terrace and Western Esplanade to the City Centre Off-Street Parking Order as the “Portland Chapel Car Park”.

The car park will operate as a Pay & Display facility with a charging period of Monday to Sunday 8am to Midnight and the following associated tariff: Up to 1 hour - £1.60, Up to 2 hours - £2.90, Up to 3 hours - £3.80, Up to 4 hours - £4.70, Up to 5 hours - £5.60, Up to 10 hours - £7.00 and Up to 24 hours - £9.00. Daily charge for vehicles arriving before 9am - £6.00; Daily charge after the first 24 hours - £9.00

No charge for Blue Badge Holders displaying a valid Blue Badge; Season Tickets will not be valid for use in the facility

Copies of the draft order, relevant map and statement of reasons for proposing can be viewed on the Councils website: https://transport.southampton.gov.uk/TRO or may be inspected Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm at Gateway in the Civic Centre, Southampton SO14 7LY.

Any person wishing to object or make any other representation relating to this order must do so in writing via the Councils website: https://transport.southampton.gov.uk/TRO or by post to the Traffic Regulation Team at Balfour Beatty Living Places, City Depot, First Avenue, Southampton SO15 0LJ quoting the order title and, where objecting, stating the grounds for the objection, within 21 days of the date of this notice (i.e. by 26th June 2026).

Please note that all representations submitted, including the name and address of the person submitting it, may be made available for public inspection.
