What is happening?

SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL

TRAFFIC ORDERS, THORNHILL ROAD AND OLD VICARAGE LANE, SOUTH MARSTON

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following Orders under the provisions of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is as follow:

Swindon Borough Council (Various Roads, Swindon) (Speed Limits) Consolidation Order 2022 (Variation No. 11) 2024 Thornhill Road

Reduce the national speed limit to 30mph speed limit on Thornhill Road from a point 196 metres north east of the A420 Gablecross Roundabout for a distance of 503 metres.

Swindon Borough Council (Various Roads, Swindon) (Speed Limits) Consolidation Order 2022 (Variation No. 13) 2024 Old Vicarage Lane

Reduce the national speed limit to restricted road status with a 30mph speed limit indicated by streetlighting on Old Vicarage Lane. From the junction of the A420 for a distance of 575 metres in a north westerly direction

The Orders will be operative as of 8 June 2026. A copy of the documents for the Orders may be inspected online at www.swindon.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders

If you wish to question the validity of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, you may, within 6 weeks from 3 June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
