What is happening?
Somerset Council Parish of Wells Temporary Closure of Market Street
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Market Street - from 80 metres south-west of the junction with Queen Street, westwards for a total distance of 18 metres. This Order will enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out new gas connection works.
The Order becomes effective on 19th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 22nd June 2026 and last until 25th June 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 4 days.
