NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Wigan Roads No.1) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.198) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 21st June 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce a loading bay, at the times specified below, on:
• Millgate, Wigan (West) from a point 5 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street to a point 19 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street during the period of 8:00am to 6:00pm on Monday to Saturday. The effect of the Order will be to revoke a loading bay, at the times specified below, on:
• Millgate, Wigan (West) from a point 5 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street to a point 19 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street during the period of 8:00am to 6:00pm on Monday to Friday. The effect of the Order will be to revoke disabled persons parking spaces, at the times specified below, on:
• Millgate, Wigan (West) from a point 5 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street to a point 19 metres south of its junction with Hewlett Street during the period of 8:00am to 6:00pm on a Saturday and Sunday.
A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing libby.gill@wigan.gov.uk Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground:
(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the TrafficManagement Act 2004, or
(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 28th May 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.625) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 21st June 2026. The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:
• A49 Preston Road, Standish (Northwest) from a point 15 metres northwest of the Lidl car park to a point 25 metres southeast of its junction with Avondale Street.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
• A49 Preston Road, Standish (West) from its junction with the Lidl car park to a point 30 metres north of its junction with the Lidl car park.
• A49 Preston Road, Standish (East) from a point 30 metres north of its junction with the Lidl car park to a point 25 metres south of its junction with Avondale Street.
