THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT
(CASTLE HILL, BREDBURY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Castle Hill, Bredbury from the south junction of Ashton Road to the junction of Battle Lane. Whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow gas main diversion works and any other associated works to take place. Pedestrian access will be maintained. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be four days.
Alternative routes will be provided via: Ashton Road.
This Order came into operation on the 5 th of June 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: MM/16094708/13. Dated: 10 th of June 2026.
