OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(OXFORD CITY – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.5) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 26 May 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The orders, which came into force on 29 May introduce new & amends existing parking restrictions as follows:

A. In the Summertown CPZ area:

1. Capel Close (East side):

a. new 30 metre ‘Shared-use’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm 1 hour or Permit holders) introduced adjacent to D’overbroeck’s school opposite Nos. 15-23, replacing part of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) parking place,

b. new 7 metre ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced adjacent to D’overbroeck’s school opposite Nos.13, replacing part of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm),

c. new 8.5 metre section of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) introduced adjacent to D’overbroeck’s school opposite Nos. 11 & 13, replacing part of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm),

d. new 12 metre ‘Shared-use’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm 1 hour or Permit holders) introduced adjacent to D’overbroeck’s school opposite Nos. 7 & 9, replacing part of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm).

2. Hernes Crescent:

a. North side – a new 14.5 metre ‘Coach Parking’ bay (One hour Mon-Sun 8am-8pm) & a 3 metre section of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) introduced adjacent to ‘Ritchie Court’, replacing the previous ‘Permit holders only’ (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) parking place.

b. North side – a new 11 metre ‘Permit holders only’ (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) parking place introduced adjacent to No.5, replacing the previous ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines),

c. South side – a 5.5 metre section of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) removed adjacent to Nos. 1-7, extending the existing ‘Shared-use’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm 4 hours or Permit holders).

3. Hernes Road – (North side) – a new 14.5 metre ‘Coach Parking’ bay (One hour Mon-Sun 8am-8pm) introduced adjacent to Nos. 376, replacing the majority of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm) parking place, with a 5 metre space remaining.

4. Lonsdale Road (North side) – a new 5 metre ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced adjacent to No. 308, replacing part of the ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) restriction.

5. Mayfield Road:

a. South side – a new 6.2 metre ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced adjacent to No.274, replacing part of the ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) restriction

b. East side – two new sections of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) introduced adjacent to Summer Fields School opposite Nos. 11 & 13, replacing the previous ‘No Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-4pm’ (single yellow lines) restrictions.

6. Squitchey Lane (South side) – a new 15 metre ‘Shared-use’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm 1 hour or Permit holders) parking place introduced adjacent to No. 2, replacing part of the previous ‘Permit holders only’ parking place (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm).

7. Summerfield Road (South side) – the existing 20 minute ‘Goods vehicle loading only’ place (Mon-Sun 6am-6.30pm) adjacent to ‘M&S’ amended to allow loading/unloading for one hour, with no return in one hour.

8. Thorncliffe Road (North side) – the existing ‘Permit holders only’ parking place (Mon-Sun 8am-10pm) adjacent to Nos. 46 & 48 reduced by 2 metres, replaced with ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) restriction.

B. In the Temple Cowley CPZ area:

1. Crescent Road (South side) – a new 6.2 metre long ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced adjacent to No. 120, replacing the existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines).

2. Junction Road (West side) – a new 6.2 metre ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced adjacent to No.1, replacing the existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines).

3. Marsh Road (North side) – a new 6.2 metre ‘Pedal Cycle’ parking place introduced opposite No. 48, replacing the existing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines),

The Oxfordshire County Council (Parking Places for Pedal Cycles, Oxford) Consolidation (Variation) Order 2009, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford City – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 is further amended as necessary, updating Map Tile Nos. EK64, EL64, EM64, EN64, FA71 & FA72 in the process.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 26 May 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
