What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CREATE A TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS 

AFFECTING: POPES LANE & GUNNERSBURY DRIVE, EALING.

Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for a planned event - TT 5129 Popes Lane & Gunnersbury Drive, Ealing - 2026.

Reason for order
This order is needed to avoid danger to the public by allowing safe access and egress for an event. The event is Soho House Festival 2026.

Effect of order
1. Waiting, loading, and unloading restrictions will be temporarily implemented at the following locations on Popes Lane & Gunnersbury Drive, Ealing. 

a) Popes Lane along both the north and south kerb lines from the junction of Gunnersbury Drive to Knights Avenue.

b) Gunnersbury Drive on the western kerb line from its junction with Popes Lane to opposite St Columba's Lawn Tennis Club.

c) The waiting, loading, or unloading of vehicles on the extent of Popes Lane & Gunnersbury Drive, to which the prohibitions and restrictions apply at any time from 12.00hrs to 23:30 on 2nd July 2026, will be enforced with the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice.

2. A one-way system for vehicular traffic on Popes Lane from Lionel Road North to A406 will be in operation from 20.00hrs until 23.30hrs on 3rd July 2026.

3. No Left Turn from Gunnersbury Lane onto A406 and a No Right Turn from Pope's Lane onto A406 will be in operation from 21.00hrs until 23.30hrs on 3rd July 2026.

4. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual. 

5. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.

6. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).

(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.

Date order will come into force. 2nd July 2026

Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 1st January 2028 or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 3rd July 2026, whichever is sooner.
