TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (SHAWFIELD STREET) 2026
The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they intend to make a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 14 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.
Shawfield Street to be closed from the junction of the King's Road to outside of number 5 Shawfield Street.
The Road is to be closed to vehicles for utility works.
The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on
Monday 22nd June 2026 until 18.00hrs on Friday 26th June 2026, with backup dates of Monday 29th June 2026 until Friday 3rd July 2026.
Diverted through traffic to use King's Road, Flood Street, Redesdale Street, Shawfield Street, or King's Road, Smith Street, St Leonard's Terrace, Tedworth Square, Tedworth Gardens, Redesdale Street, Shawfield Street.
The One-way working of Shawfield Street is to be suspended for the duration of the road closure. Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.
Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.
- anything done in connection with the execution of said works.
