ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1)

THE BOLTON (PUBLIC FOOTPATH WESTHOUGHTON 071 & 072) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (NO.) ORDER 2026

The Borough Council of Bolton intends to make an Order not less than seven days from the date of this Notice.

The effect which will be operative from 16th June 2026 and will prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using Public Footpaths Westhoughton 071 & 072.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 071 commencing from point A at grid reference SD 63795 06230 in a generally southwest direction to point B near Wilson’s Farm at grid reference SD 63753 06182; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Wes 071/072 over a total distance of approximately 70 metres.

Public Footpath Westhoughton 072 commencing from point C near Wilson’s Farm at grid reference SD 63566 06255 in a generally north-northwest direction to point B near Taylor Farm at grid reference SD 63388 06978; as shown by the bold black line on the Order plan 1Wes 071/072 over a total distance of approximately 760 metres.

An alternative route will be made available. Details of the route will be published on site.

The Order is necessary to facilitate improvement works due to bridge structural defects and possible risk of collapse and will continue for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed whichever is the earlier.
