Stopping Up of part of Footways off Leeds Road, Holme Street and Broadway, Nelson

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice of the proposal to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping up of a southern part width of footway as leads off Leeds Road, a southern part width of footway as leads off Leeds Road at its junction with Holme Street, 2 irregular shaped western part widths of Holme Street and 4 northern part widths of Broadway at Nelson, in the Borough of Pendle.

If the order is made, the stopping up will be authorised only in order to enable development as permitted by Pendle Borough Council under references 23/0268/FUL and 25/0174/NMA.

Copies of the draft order and relevant plan will be available for inspection during normal opening hours at Nelson Library, Market Square, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 7BU in the 28 days commencing on 5 June 2026, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State (quoting SUO2874386) at the address stated below.

Any person may object to the making of the proposed order by stating their reasons in writing  to the Secretary of State at nationalcasework@ dft.gov.uk or National Transport Casework Team, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ, quoting the above reference. Objections should be received by midnight on 3 July 2026. You are advised that your personal data and correspondence will be passed to the applicant/agent to enable your objection to be considered.
