Notice of Variation of Parking Charges
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 35C & Section 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and all other enabling powers, proposes to increase the charges levied for the use of the parking places on the following:-
On Street Parking
- Bridgeman Terrace, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:30am-6:30pm
- Dorning Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:30am-6:00pm
- Hallgate, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:30am-6:30pm
- Crawford Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:30am-6:30pm
- Richmond Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:30am-6:30pm
- Wigan Lane, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm
- New Market Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm
- Upper Dicconson Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm
- Dicconson Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm
- Mesnes Park Terrace, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm
- Library Street, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm
- Millgate, Wigan – Monday-Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm

The new rate of charges will take effect on 26th June 2026.
Bag Lane, Atherton – Temporary Closure
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Bag Lane, Atherton) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Bag Lane, Atherton on 30th June 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 11:30 only.
The alternative route for traffic is:
Gloucester Street – Wigan Road – Mealhouse Lane.
The Order is necessary to allow frame and cover.
Meadowgrass Gardens, Worsley – Temporary Closure
Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Meadowgrass Gardens, Worsley) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Meadowgrass Gardens, Worsley on 15th June 2026 between the hours of 09:30 and 13:00 only.
Please note that access will be maintained where possible for residents.
The Order is necessary to allow frame and cover.
