What is happening?

Manchester City Council
Manchester City Council proposes to make Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effects of the Orders will be as follows:

ORDER A: CITY OF MANCHESTER (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE) (MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE) NO. 19 ORDER 2003 (AMENDMENT NO. 22) ORDER 2026 NO WAITING AT ANY TIME:
Faulkner Street, (i) north-west side from Princess Street south westerly for 6.5m, (ii) south-east side from Princess Street south westerly for 6m. Princess Street, (i) southwest side from Faulkner Street north westerly for 8.5m, (ii) south-west side from St James Street south easterly for 7m, (iii) south-west side from St James Street to George Street, (iv) south-west side from George Street to Back George Street. ORDER C: CITY OF MANCHESTER (ST JAMES STREET, GEORGE STREET AND FAULKNER STREET) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC, PROHIBITION OF TURNS AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 ONE WAY TRAFFIC:
Faulkner Street from Princess Street to Nicholas Street in a north easterly direction.

NO LEFT TURN:
St James Street (south of Princess Street) into Princess Street.

NO RIGHT TURN:
George Street (north of Princess Street) into Princess Street. St James Street (north of Princess Street) into Princess Street.

It is proposed to amend existing Orders to accommodate these proposals. Copies of the proposed Orders, the Orders it is proposed to amend, a Statement of Reasons and plans showing the proposals may be requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or examined in person by appointment at the Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) Monday to Friday 9am to 4.30pm. 

If you wish to object to the proposed Traffic Regulation Orders, please send your objection in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or to the address below. 

Please ensure that your response states: the grounds on which your objection is made, the Order (A, B, or C) to which your objection relates, and the reference L/JUH/HIG002/84215. The TRO consultation period will end on 30th June 2026. Please ensure you make any representations by this date.
