(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road.
Elizabeth Street: a 19 metre length to the side of no. 127 and 128 Princess Road;
Princess Road/Princess Road Rear Cross: a 19 metre length to the side of no. 113 and 114 Princess Road;
Corcyra Street: a 21 metre length to the side of no. 97 and 98 Princess Road and
Polenarch Street: a 20 metre length to the side of no. 90 and 91 Princess Road, Seaham to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure, any local diversions will be signposted on site. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 8am on Monday 22/6/2026 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
