NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make the following Order,
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (Temporary Closure of Roads around Burnt Tree Junction) Order 2026 the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding on the following roads:
Phase 1 New Birmingham Road, Dudley (Northbound – from Burnt Tree junction to Regent Road), Bunns Lane, Dudley, Birmingham Road, Dudley (Westbound), Birmingham Road, Dudley (Eastbound), Birmingham New Road, Dudley (Northbound – from Burnt Tree junction to adjacent to the Castlemill Offices), Castlegate Drive, Dudley
Phase 2 Birmingham New Road, Dudley (Southbound – from Tesco entrance to Burnt Tree), Burnt Tree, Tividale Road, Tividale, Birmingham New Road (Southbound – from Birmingham New Road to Walford Street)
for the purpose of resurfacing works being carried out on or near the affected road. The order will come into operation on 22.06.2026 and will remain in force until 31.07.2026 or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The restrictions will be in force from 20:00 until 05:00 only, each day The maximum duration of the order is 18 months. Traffic will be diverted via:
Phase 1
Birmingham Road South-Eastbound traffic diverted via: Castlegate Island, Tipton Road, Birmingham New Road & vice versa
Birmingham Road Eastbound traffic diverted via: Castlegate Island, Tipton Road, Dudley Road, High Street (B4517), Park Lane West, Sedgley Road East, Dudley Port, Burnt Tree & vice versa
Birchley Island Northbound (HGV route) traffic diverted via: Birchley Island, Churchbridge, Oldbury Ringway, Dudley Road, Dudley Road East, Tipton Road, Sedgley Road East, Park Lane West, High Street (B4517), Dudley Road
New Birmingham Road Northwest bound traffic diverted via: Hill Road, Dudley Road West, Tipton Road, Sedgley Road East, Park Lane West, High Street (B4517), Dudley Road, Birmingham New Road
Bunns Lane local diversion: Corporation Road, Highfield Road, Birmingham Road
Phase 2
Birmingham Road Eastbound traffic diverted via: Castlegate Island, Tipton Road, Dudley Road, High Street (B4517), Park Lane West, Sedgley Road East, Dudley Port, Burnt Tree & vice versa
Birmingham New Road South-East bound traffic via: Dudley Road, High Street (B4517), Park Lane West, Sedgley Road East, Tipton Road, Dudley Road East, Dudley Road, Oldbury Ringway, Churchbridge
Tividale Road North-West bound traffic diverted via: Dudley Road West, Tipton Road, Sedgley Road East, Park Lane West, High Street (B4517), Dudley Road
Tividale Road South-East bound traffic diverted via: Dudley Road West, Dudley Road East, Dudley Road, Oldbury Ringway, Churchbridge.
Access to frontages and for emergency vehicles will be maintained where safe to do so.
