Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D5421 Westbrook Road, Godalming that extends from the access road for “The Meath”, to X5421 Westbrook Road, Godalming. This Traffic Order is required to enable KMCO TM Solutions and/or BT Openreach to lay track and/or carry out cabling and/or maintenance and/or associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 6pm within 6 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. There is no applicable alternative route however access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Various Roads in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2026

On 3 June 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice; (b) prohibit vehicles proceeding south-westwards on Jacobs Well Road (D51) Guildford from turning left into A320 Woking Road; (c) prohibit vehicles proceeding westwards on Moorfield Road (D4027) from turning right into A320 Woking Road; (d) impose a 30mph speed limit in that length of Woking Road (A320) Guildford between its junction with Stoughton Road and its junction with Jacobs Well Road; (e) suspend the Order imposing a 40mph speed limit in part (d) above. This Order is required to enable Winvic to facilitate resurfacing works, kerb installation works and/or road marking installation associated with the construction of a new junction, which is anticipated to be completed within 6 months, between 9pm and 6am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 4 June 2026. It is anticipated that between 08/06/26 and 01/07/26, the road closure on Woodlands Road will be in force 24 hours per day. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibitions will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For part (a): Due to the nature of the works, access for emergency service vehicles will not be maintained and will be required to follow the diversion route.

Residents will be escorted to their properties. Access for residents and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. For part (b) and (c): The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police. For part (d): it is anticipated that the temporary speed limit will be in force 24 hours per day. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

Schedule

1. that length of Hazel Avenue (D4025) Guildford which extends from its junction with Woking Road to its junction with Oak Tree Drive. Alternative Route – Woking Road, Stoughton Road, Larch Avenue and Hazel Avenue;

2. that length of Jacobs Well Road (D51) Guildford which extends from its junction with Woking Road to its junction with White House Lane. Alternative Route – Woking Road, Clay Lane and Jacobs Well Road;

3. the entire length of Woodlands Road (D4027) Guildford (Note: it is anticipated that the closure will be carried out in phases which will be confirmed on-site). Alternative Route – Woodlands Road, Old Farm Road and Woking Road;

4. that length of Woking Road (A320) Guildford which extends from its junction with Jacobs Well Road to its junction with Moorfield Road.

Alternative Route – Woking Road, Parkway A25, A3100, Epsom Road, The Street, Clandon Road, Send Barns Lane, Broadmead Road, High Street, Wych Hill Lane, Egley Road, Guilford Road, Woking Road.

Wisley Lane (D241) Wisley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 29 May 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wisley Lane (D241) Wisley as extends from its junction with Chittenden Close (X241) to the access for The Old Village Stores.

Alternative route – Wisley Lane, B2215 (Portsmouth Road and High Street), B367 (Newark Lane and Church Hill), Warren Lane, Pyrford Road, Lock Lane and Wisley Lane, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole testing and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 June 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Potters Lane (D233) Send Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Potters Lane (D233) Send as extends from its junction with London Road (A3) to its junction with Vicarage Lane (D234).

Alternative route – Clockwise: Vicarage Lane, Woodhill, B2215 (London Road), A247 (Clandon Road), A3 (Ripley By-Pass and London Road), A3100 (London Road and Clay Lane) and A3 (London Road and Ripley By-Pass). Anti-clockwise: A3 (London Road), Woodhill and Vicarage Lane.

This Order is required to enable CX Telecoms to facilitate cable jointing and splicing and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 June 2026 for 1 week between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Summer Road (C160) Thames Ditton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Summer Road (C160) Thames Ditton eastbound as extends from its junction with Hampton Court Way (A309) to its junction with Summer Crossing (X5084).

Alternative route – A309 (Hampton Court Way), A308 (Hampton Court Road, Horse Fair and Wood Street, anti-clockwise only – Sopwith Way, Richmond Road, Cromwell Road and Queen Elizabeth Road), A307 (Fairfield North (anti-clockwise only) or Clarence Street (clockwise only), Wheatfield Way, Kingston Hall Road, High Street and Portsmouth Road), St Leonards Road, High Street and Summer Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable T Loughman and Co Ltd to facilitate utility works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 June 2026 for 2 weeks between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Oatlands Drive (A3050) Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Oatlands Drive (A3050) Weybridge as extends from its junction with (D3872) York Road to its junction with (D3872) Churchill Drive. Alternative Route: (1) (A3050) Oatlands Drive, (A244) Bridge Street, (A244) New Zealand Avenue, (A244) High Street, (A244) Ashley Road, (B365) Ashley Road, (A317) Queens Road, (A317) Monument Hill, and (A3050) Oatlands Drive; (2) (A317) Queens Road, (B365) Ashley Road, (A244) Ashley Road, (A244) New Zealand Avenue, and (A3050) Oatlands Drive.

This Order is required to facilitate mains water repair works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 July 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to Cedar Grove will be maintained at all times for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, via the banksmen on site, all other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles will be required to follow the signed diversion route.

High Barn Road (D268) Effingham and Selhurst Common Road (D197) Bramley
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) High Barn Road (D268) Effingham as extends from its junction with (D269) Hogden Lane and for a distance of 80 metres in a southerly direction along High Barn Road.

Alternative Route: Hogden Lane, Ranmore Common Road, and High Barn Road, or this route in reverse; (b) Selhurst Common Road (D197) Bramley as extends from its junction with (D198) Gate Street and for a distance of 100 metres in a south easterly direction along Selhurst Common Road. Alternative Route: Selhurst Common Road, Thorncombe Street, Snowdenham Lane, (A281) High Street, (A281) Birtley Road, (A281) Rooks Hill, (A281) Horsham Road, and Selhurst Common Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Morrison Telecom Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 July 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Grantley Avenue (D698) Wonersh Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Grantley Avenue (D698) Guildford. Alternative Route: Mellersh Hill Road and The Drive, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate new service connection works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Portsmouth Road (A3100) Milford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Portsmouth Road (A3100) Milford as extends from its junction with (X147) Sandy Lane to its junction with (A3) Portsmouth Road.

Alternative Route: (1) (A3) Portsmouth Road, (A3) Thursley Junction Southbound Slip Off, Thursley Junction, (A3) Old Portsmouth Road, (A3) Portsmouth Road, (A3) Milford By-Pass, (A283) Elstead Road Roundabout, (A283) Link Road, (A283) Guildford Road Roundabout, (A283) Guildford Road, and (A283) Portsmouth Road; (2) (A283) Portsmouth Road, (A283) Guildford Road, (A3) Milford By-Pass, and (A3) Portsmouth Road. This Order is required to facilitate borehole investigative works for, or on behalf of MWHTreatment. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 20 nights, between the hours of 10pm and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

D6203 Service Road Staines Road West/Maxwell Road, Staines-upon-Thames and B375 Chertsey Bridge Road/Bridge Road, Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and Section 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D6203 Service Road Staines Road West/Maxwell Road, Staines-upon-Thames which extends from its junction with Cecil Road to the southern property boundary of No.1 Maxwell Road; (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Chertsey Bridge (B375) Chertsey (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles) Order 2021.

This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate and/or carriageway treatment works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 25 June 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary restrictions and suspension of the Order will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of roads specified or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
