ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

(as Amended) – SECTION 14(1)

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ST. HELENS

(HOUGHTONS LANE, ECCLESTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING, ORDER 2026)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 13th day of May, 2026, the St. Helens Borough Council made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended), the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit a vehicle proceed in either direction along Houghtons Lane between A580 East Lancashire Road and Oak Tree Road, as and when directed by road traffic signs on-site.

The Order will come into force on Monday 8th June 2026, and will have a maximum duration of eighteen months, but will terminate on completion of the works, which is expected to take nine days.

The alternative route will be via B5203 Catchdale Moss Lane, B5201 Burrows Lane, B5201 Church Lane, Springfield Lane and vice versa.

The reason for making this Order is to facilitate the installation of new electricity cable.
