The East Sussex (U6630 New Road, Northiam)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

New Road – from the junction with A28 Perryman Cross to the junction with C97 Mill Corner.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C97 Mill Corner – A28 Perryman Cross and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 and 11 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

Ponts Green – from the junction with C412 Brownbread Street to the junction with C18 Herrings Road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ludpit Lane – from the junction with C213 Willards Hill to the junction with C213 Oxenbridge Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C213 Willards Hill – C18 Brightling Road, Station Road, High Street, Northbridge Street – A21(T) Northbridge Street roundabout, Silverhill, London Road – A265 Station Road, Haremere Hill, High Street – C213 Oxenbridge Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 8 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 10 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ellenwhorne Lane – from the junction with B2089 Catts Green to the junction with B2165 Northiam Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2165 Northiam Road, Cripps Corner Road – B2089 Catts Green and vice versa. The Order commences 23 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 23 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6563 Beeching Road, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Beeching Road – from the junction with P6594 Beeching Close to the junction with A269 London Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6563 Beeching Road – B2098 Terminus Road, Buckhurst Place – A269 Town Hall Square, London Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 June and 3 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Cooden Sea Road – from the junction with B2182 Cooden Drive to the junction with U6543 The Gorses.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2182 Cooden Sea Road – U6527 Birkdale – U6543 Collington Avenue – U6536 Westcourt Drive – B2182 Cooden Drive and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 23 and 24 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Penhurst Lane – from the junction with B2096 Darwell Hill to the junction with U6117 Old Thatched Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C412 Penhurst Lane, Forge Lane, The Forge – C18 Church Road, Hammer Hill – A271 Kitchenham Road, Beechdown Wood – B2096 Kane Hythe Road, Darwell Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hollington Old Lane – from the junction with B2159 Battle Road to the junction with U3061 Stonehouse Drive.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3062 Hollington Old Lane – U3045 Blackman Avenue – B2159 Battle Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Long Reach/The Street/Cackle Street – from the junction with C18 Deer Park Road to the junction with C281 Hollingrove Lane.

Diversion via C280 Cackle Street – B2096 Battle Road, Woods Corner – C18 Brightling Road, Deer Park Road and vice versa or via C18 Deer Park Road, Brightling Road – B2096 Woods Corner, Battle Road – C280 Cackle Street – C281 Hollingrove Lane – C18 Rectory Hill and vice versa.

Rectory Hill/Brightling Road – from the junction with C280 Cackle Street to the junction with C18 Station Road.

Diversion via C18 Station Road, High Street, George Hill – A21(T) Johns Cross Road – A2100 London Road – A271 Ten Sixty-Six roundabout, North Trade Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road, Darwell Hill – C280 Cackle Street and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic set out above. The Order commences 22 June 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 30 June 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (Prescribed Routes)

(Havelock Road, Hastings) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make four Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all of the other enabling powers, which will amend the following restrictions in the following roads in Hastings:

1.  Speed limit on Havelock Road, Harold Place and Pelham Street (TRO/ 542)

This order will introduce a 20mph speed limit on

a.   Havelock Road, Hastings, both sides from northern junction with Cornwallis Terrace/Station Approach/Devonshire Road, southwards to Harold Place (south)

b.   Harold Place (south), Hastings, both sides from Havelock Road southwards to junction with Carlisle Parade/Denmark Place

c.   Pelham Street, Hastings, westbound, from eastern junction with Albert Road towards Harold Place ( east )

d.   Harold Place (east), Hastings, westbound, from Pelham Street to junction with Harold Place ( south )

2. Amended  layout on Havelock Road and Harold Place (TRO/546A)

a.   Amendments to double yellow line restrictions, bus stop clearway, taxi rank, and introduction of loading bays – Havelock Road

b.   Amendments to double yellow line restrictions, bus stop clearway – Harold Place ( south )

c.   Amendments to double yellow line restrictions, and parking – Harold Place (east)

3.   Amended layout on Wellington Place (TRO/546B)

a.   Establishment of two loading bays outside Nos. 4-8 and 14-17 Wellington Place.

b.   Establishment of one motorcycle parking bay at Wellington Place junction with Albert Road.

4.   One-way cycle movement on Havelock Road (TRO/550)  This order will limit vehicles (including pedal cycles) from:

a.   travelling southbound on the northbound cycle track from the southern end of Havelock Road (junction with Harold Place) to the northern end of Havelock Road (junction with Cornwallis Terrace/Station Approach/ Devonshire Road).
