WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING
(ST CATHERINES HILL, MORTIMER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026
The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over St Catherines Hill in Mortimer between its junction with Stephens Firs and its junction with Sweetzers Piece.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via St Catherines Hill, West End Road, Stephens Road, Victoria Road, Stephens Firs and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to replace a pole.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 23rd June 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 on 23rd June 2026.
(SWEETZERS PIECE, MORTIMER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026

There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order, therefore resident and blue light access will be maintained.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Openreach to replace a pole.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 23rd June 2026. It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30 on 23rd June 2026.
Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
