Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 85, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 35 metres north of Duke Street, for approximately 75 metres north.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 31 May 2026 to 31 November 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while permissions and contractor are appointed for the upgrade of footpath.
The alternative route will be via Duke Street, Church Lane, Cottage Place and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 31 May 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hurrells Lane/Chapel Lane & New Lodge Chase, Little Baddow)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Hurrells Lane, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Hammonds Road to its junction with New Lodge Chase a distance of approximately 1280m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Chapel Lane, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Church Road to its junction with New Lodge Chase a distance of approximately 760m.
3. To temporarily close that length of New Lodge Chase, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Hurrells Lane for a distance of approximately 705m in a south westerly, south easterly then southerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 29th June 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02236074623, EP02217391464 & EP02201296407 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these phased works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree trimming works are undertaken by GTM.
An alternative route is available via:
1. Hammonds Road, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 11th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the phased works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Maldon Road, Margaretting) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 1300m south east, north east, south east then north east of its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 190m in a north easterly then south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2402854 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching and kerbing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, London Hill, Margaretting Road, Stock Road, B1007, A1114, London Road, Widford Roundabout, A414, Margaretting Road, Writtle Road, Wantz Road, Maldon Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Old Southend Road, Sandon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Old Southend Road, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Southend Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th June 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30055024381 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Old Southend Road, Southend Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford, as detailed in the Schedule.
2. To temporarily introduce a no right hand turn from Elms Drive, Chelmsford into Broomfield Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford for the duration of the above closures only.
3. To temporarily introduce a no left hand turn from Westfield Avenue, Chelmsford into Broomfield Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford for the duration of the above closures only.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of cycle lanes in the City of Chelmsford, as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 11th June 2026, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The cycle lanes will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public.
Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the cycle lanes.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Boreham in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Main Road for a distance of approximately 250m in a south easterly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dowsett Lane, Ramsden Heath in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Norton Place for a distance of approximately 1000m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th June 2026 for 47 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01326887 Essex And Suffolk Water).

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (Streetworks SW10) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
