(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brook Street, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 45m east then south east of its junction with Fenn Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th June 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02267557873 – Down To Earth Landscapes Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation and tree limb removal works are undertaken by Down To Earth Landscapes Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Fenn Road, A1124, Station Road and vice versa (with access only into Brook Street and Halstead Road).

The Order will come into effect on 11th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Cricks Road, Colne Engaine & Hill House Road, Pebmarsh)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cricks Road, Colne Engaine & Hill House Road, Pebmarsh in the District of Braintree, from the junction with The Street to the junction with Overhall Hill a distance of approximately 2930m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th June 2026 for 16 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393985 & EP201EH2393986 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(America Road, Earls Colne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of America Road, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Coggeshall Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th June 2026 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40053939330 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/  The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new access construction works are undertaken by GTM.

An alternative route is available via B1024, A1124, Tey Road and vice versa (with access only into America Road).

The Order came into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bournebridge Hill, Greenstead Green)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Braintree Road, Greenstead Green) (Temporary Introduction of a 30 MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Bournebridge Hill, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Plaistow Green Road to its junction with Russells Road a distance of approximately 1180m.

  2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction in that length of Braintree Road, Greenstead Green from its junction with Oak Road for a distance of approximately 365m in a south westerly direction (restriction in both directions).

To speed restriction is scheduled to commence on 15th June 2026 for 127 days and the closure is scheduled to commence on 7th September 2026 for 3 nights (20:00-05:00) and again on 13th October 2026 for

10 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permits (EP40055388243, EP40021627763 & EP40087861089 – Hopkins Homes). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/  The closure/speed restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surfacing works are undertaken by Hopkins Homes.

An alternative route is available via A131, A1124, A1017, A131 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Gestingthorpe Road, Great Maplestead)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gestingthorpe Road, Great Maplestead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 105m north east of its junction with Monks Lodge Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310790727 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/   The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Monks Lodge Road, Great Maplestead Road, Sudbury Road, Hedingham Road and vice versa (with access only into Gestingthorpe Road and Great Maplestead Road).

The Order came into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Mill Chase & Morley Road, Halstead Urban)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Mill Chase, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Head Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction.

2. To temporarily close that length of Morley Road, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Head Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 21st June 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC0080GEAA4204073RCV2 – Openreach Limited).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on https://one.network/ The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

Alternative routes are available via:

  1. Mill Chase, A1124, A131 and vice versa.

  2. Morley Road, Pretoria Road, A1124, A131 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of New Street, Halstead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 70m south east of its junction with Trinity Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th June 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03167774217 – Anglian Water Business (National) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stoptap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National) Limited.

An alternative route is available via Mitchell Avenue, Kings Road, Trinity Street and vice versa (with access only into New Street).

The Order came into effect on 28th May 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
