What is happening?

Temporary 30mph Speed Limit, Blandford Forum Bypass, Blandford Forum
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 1st July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the temporary 30mph speed limit will remain in force until 26th February 2027.
This Order will enable R&W Langley to impose a temporary 30mph speed limit to carry out S278 access and roundabout construction and associated works in collaboration with JDT Utilities Ltd to carry out gas main replacement work.
The effect of the Order is as follows:
(i) To impose a temporary 30mph speed limit upon Blandford Forum Bypass, Blandford Forum to such extent as indicated by the traffic signs between Hill Top Roundabout and Two Gates Roundabout (in both directions).

Temporary Closure of Public Bridleways 9, Winfrith Newburgh And 5, Coombe Keynes
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Bridleway 9, Winfrith Newburgh and Bridleway 5, Coombe Keynes between grid reference SY 817 848 and grid reference SY 832 848, a distance of approximately 1,515 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It came into operation on 24th November 2025 and has been extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The Order will now remain in place until 24th November 2027.
The Order is required due to the extreme Health and Safety Risk caused by the continued expansion at Newburgh Dairy and adjacent Slurry Lagoon.

The Dorset Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map Based) (Amendment No. 22) (Liberty Road, Portland) Order 2026
Dorset Council has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
When the Order comes into operation on 12th June 2026 the effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time and no loading at any time restrictions along part of Liberty Road, Portland (along the entire length of one side of the road outside of Portland Castle).

Temporary Closure of Church Lane, East Stoke
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Church Lane, East Stoke from the Access road leading to River Laboratory to the level crossing (in both directions), a distance of approximately 270 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 15th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26th June 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to recover stone from watercourse and rebuild downstream stone parapet.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of B3070 East Lulworth
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 17th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 22nd June 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of the order is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on B3070, East Lulworth from junction with Whiteway to junction with C48 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 640 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along B3070, East Lulworth from junction with Whiteway to junction with C48 (in both directions), a distance of approximately 640 metres. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Litton Cheney
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, LITTON CHENEY:
LITTON LANE between its junction with Cox's Lane and a point approximately 125 metres west.
C9 between its junction with Baglake and The Old Brewery, a distance approximately 150 metres.
CHALK PIT LANE between its junction with Main Street and its junction with Litton Hill, a distance of approximately 120 metres.
MAIN STREET between its junction with School Lane and the entrance to Charity Farm, a distance of approximately 45 metres.
The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 July 2026.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to carry out sewer lining works.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
