What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL

(THE DINGLE, COOMBE DINGLE, BRISTOL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of The Dingle which extends from Canford Lane northwards then generally south westwards for 177 metres.

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 13th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. 

However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 13th July 2026 and 24th July 2026 and between 14th September 2026 and 18th September 2026).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Canford Lane, Dingle Road, Sylvan Way, Westbury Lane, The Dingle (part unaffected) and vice versa

(CONGLETON ROAD, WHITEHALL, BRISTOL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Congleton Road which extends from Park Crescent to Whitehall Road. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 22nd June 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. 

However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 22nd June 2026 and 31st July 2026).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Park Crescent, Bowden Road, Whitehall Road and vice versa

(FREESTONE ROAD, ST. PHILIPS, BRISTOL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Freestone Road which extends from Gas Lane north eastwards to its closed end. 

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 23rd June 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. 

However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 23rd June 2026 and 4th October 2026).

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: None available

(STAPLETON ROAD, EASTVILLE, BRISTOL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of Bristol in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Stapleton Road which extends from Averay Road to Cottrell Road.

The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road and will be operative from 8th July 2026 for a maximum period of 18 months. 

However, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period, but only as necessitated by the works (which are anticipated to take place between 8th July 2026 and 17th July 2026). 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Bell Hill, Park Road, Broom Hill, Blackberry Hill, Manor Road, Fishponds Road, Muller Road, Eastville Roundabout M32 Junction 2, Stapleton Road (part unaffected) and vice versa
