Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 27 July 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for a Pole change. This order will become operative on the 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration.     This order was required because of surface dressing works and will become operative on 15 June 2026, anticipated to be of two days. The working hours will be 8am to 5pm. The road will be closed for the reinstallation of road markings which will become operative on 24 June 2026 anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 8am and 5pm.

    This order was required because of surface dressing works and will become operative on 14 June 2026, anticipated to be of 2 days. The working hours will be 9.30am to 3pm. The road will be closed for the reinstalation of road markings which will become operative on 23 June 2026 anticipated to be of 2 nights in duration between 8pm and 5am. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

    Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

    This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for duct laying. This order will become operative on the 18 June 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration.     Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

    This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach Limited for cabling works and tree cutting. This order will become operative on the 16 June 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 7 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. The commencement dates of the phase closures are approximate and subject to the progression of the works. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

    (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles), (Temporary No Loading or Waiting Restriction), (Temporary One Way) Order 2026

    Date coming Into Force: 23 May 2026

    Ref: SW26.27-379

    Will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for authorised event vehicles, authorised vehicles for enforcement purposes and for public transport and shuttle buses as indicated in the Traffic Management Plan when instructed by event control. Resident Road Closure Pass Holders to be allowed through manned closure points. Resident Pass Holders to be allowed to park in temporary resident parking zones. Residents Permit Parking and On Street Paid parking also exempt from this order.

    This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public and in the interests of safety and as a means of segregating traffic from pedestrians during the events Love Saves the Day (LSTD) and the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta (BIBF) being staged at the Ashton Court Estate in Long Ashton. It is anticipated that the following restrictions will be in effect on the dates and times shown in the schedule below and when indicated by the appropriate traffic signs & cones. It will become operative on the 23 May 2026 in phases for Love Saves the Day and Bristol International Balloon Fiesta for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures and restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the events.     Will be to restrict, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for authorised event vehicles, authorised vehicles for enforcement purposes and for public transport and shuttle buses as indicated in the Traffic Management Plan when instructed by event control. Resident Road Closure Pass Holders to be allowed through manned closure points. Resident Pass Holders to be allowed to park in temporary resident parking zones.     From 7pm on Friday 7 August to 2am on Monday 10 August 2026.

    Temporary Prohibition of use by vehicles:

    Abbots Leigh Road (A369) from its junction with Beggar Bush Lane to Rownham Hill to the boundary of North Somerset/Bristol, Clevedon Road, Failand B3128. From A370 to Begger Bush Lane/Weston Road (LSTD from 10am to 2am each day) and (BIBF 7pm to 2am each day).

    A370 Long Ashton Bypass from Colliters Way Roundabout inbound towards Bristol for approximately 1040m to the boundary of North Somerset/Bristol (LSTD/BIBF 9pm to 2am).

    Ashton Road B3128 - North Slip Road from A370 to Ashton Road, South Slip Road between Ashton Road and the A370 and from the junction of Long Ashton Road to the traffic lights outside the Park and Ride (LSTD).

    Longwood Lane, Long Ashton for its full extent (LSTD from 10am to 2am each day) and (BIBF 7pm to 2am each day).

    Temporary One-Way Order

    B3128 Clevedon Road from its junction with Longwood Lane to Beggar Bush Lane in a westerly direction (only at times when traffic signs are displayed to give effect to the order).

    (BIBF) B3128 Ashton Road from its junction with the A370 Long Ashton Bypass to the junction with B3128 Ashton Road, in a south westerly direction (only at times when traffic signs are displayed to give effect to the order).

    Long Ashton Road South side: From the junction with B3128 Clarken Coombe to the common boundary between 114 Long Ashton Road and 2 Hillside Road. From the common boundary between 114 Long Ashton Road and 2 Hillside Road to the junction of Theynes Croft except vehicles displaying an approved Residents Parking Permit. From the junction of Theynes Croft to the common boundary between 66 and 64 Long Ashton Road.

    Providence Lane both sides from the junction with B3128 Clarken Coombe to the northern most boundary of 100 Providence Lane.

    Church Lane both sides for its full extent.

    Glebe Road both sides from the junction of Long Ashton Road to the junction of Yanley Lane.

    No waiting at any Time and No Loading at any Time - Except for paid parking and residential permit bays.

    Parsonage Road both sides for its full extent.

    North Road for its full extent between Abbots Leigh Road and Bridge Road along its southern side.
