(Temporary Road Closure and Bus Lane Suspension) Order 2026

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road as described.

Road Closure (closed to vehicular traffic) A 30 metre length of Wood View to the side of Numbers 1 and 20, between Front Street and rear Front Street, Croxdale. Access to the side road junctions to the south-east of B6288 Front Street will be prohibited during lane closures.

Bus Lane Suspensions It will also be necessary to suspend the bus lane regulation from B6288 Front Street, north east of the Wood View northern-most access, Croxdale to A167 for a total length of 245 metres, as detailed in the County Council of Durham (B6288 & A167 Croxdale, Durham) (Bus, Coach, Pedal Cycle and Motor Cycle Lane) Order 2011.

Also, the bus lane regulation on A167 north westbound carriageway nearside lane at Foster Terrace, Croxdale from a point opposite the boundary between numbers 14/15, extending north west for 77 metres, if required, as detailed in the County Council of Durham (Various Locations, County Durham) (Bus, Cycle, Motorcycle and Taxi Lanes 7am-7pm) Order 2014, to enable gas main renewal works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic via adjacent roads in the area. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from Monday 22/6/2026 and the duration of the works are anticipated to be around 6 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
