(Temporary Traffic Restrictions)

Order 2026

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 18th day of June 2026 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 23rd day of June 2026 for one day (between 0800 hours and 1800 hours) to enable KN Circet working on behalf of Barr Engineering Services to carry out pole replacement works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles. Broadway, Somerton - From its junction with the A37 Fosse Way for a distance of 230 metres

Schedule 2

Temporary 40mph Speed Limit

A37 Fosse Way, Somerton - From its junction with Steart Lane in a northerly then easterly direction for a distance of 700 metres

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
