Temporary Closure of Burton and Water Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Burton - from the junction with Knighton Lane, south-westwards for a distance of 109 metres and Water Lane - from the southern junction with Burton to the junction with Burton Road. A total distance of 881 metres.

This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways. Solid diamond symbolization will be used on the diversion route and will not clash with any other Kiely Bros works within the area.

The Order becomes effective on 18th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 22nd June 2026 and last until 30th June 2026 between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00 for a total of 9 days.
