Somerset - Temporary Road Closure due to phased fibre cable installation works

Temporary Closure of Muchelney Road, Langport Road, Thorney Road and Thorney
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along:
Muchelney Road - from the junction with Huish Bridge Road, incorporating Langport Road, to the junction with Law Lane and Thorney Road - from the junction with The Avenue, northwards incorporating Thorney, for a distance of 1286 metres. A total distance of 2827 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Internet to carry out phased fibre cable installation works (as and when signed on site).
The Order becomes effective on 18th June 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 22nd June 2026 and last until 3rd July 2026 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 12 days.
