ACCESS PATH, ACKWORTH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 169) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for gas main disconnection works to be carried out on or near Dando Way Cycle Way access path, Ackworth, access path adjacent to the old tarmac plant off Wakefield Road, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians: Access to Dando Way will be via a fully signed diversion, in place for the duration of the closure, via the access path on the opposite side of the road at the same location, adjacent to number 3a & vice versa. The Order comes into operation on 8th June 2026 to 12th June 2026.
(CAMBRIDGE STREET, SOUTH ELMSALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 172) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to complete remedial works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Cambridge Street, South Elmsall between numbers 35 to 40. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Cambridge Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Cambridge Street, Minsthorpe Lane, Harrow Street, Barnsley Road, Cambridge Street & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 9th June 2026 to 11th June 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(HOLES LANE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 173) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for cable overlay works on behalf of Northern Powergrid to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Holes Lane, Knottingley for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Holes Lane. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Ferrybridge Road, Pottery Lane, North View & vice versa. PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including
8th June 2026 to 19th June 2026 between
09.30 hours and 15.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 188) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace RTL posts to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: High Street, Castleford 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of High Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Lumley Street, A639, A6082, Methley Road, Wood Street, Albion Street & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including
23rd June 2026 to 25th June 2026 between 23.30 hours and 05.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintaaned whenever possible.
