OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(CROWMARSH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 1 June 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 5 June introduces a 30mph speed limit on Benson Lane in Crowmarsh Gifford – between its junction with the A4074 and the previous village 20mph speed limit to the south, replacing the existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Crowmarsh) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 is revoked/replaced.

(VARIOUS ROADS – VALE OF WHITE HORSE DISTRICT) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling powers. The effect of the Order – in response to concerns raised by residents – is to replace approx. 48 metres (7-8 vehicle lengths) of the existing shared-use (‘Mon-Sat 8am-6pm Permit holders or Limited Waiting 2 hours, no return within 1 hour’) parking bay on the east side of the B4017 Bath Street in Abingdon, with new ‘Permit Holders Only’ parking provision, operating Mon-Sat 8am-6pm – outside of these hours parking will be unrestricted.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – the Vale of White Horse District) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 will be further amended, updating Map Tile: ‘FW62’ in the process.

Garsington, Oxford Road

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 22 June 2026

Coming into force: 29 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of excavations for sewer maintenance work which is anticipated to be completed 10 July 2026. This is a 24 hour road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Oxford Road outside No. 7. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via Oxford Road, Pettiwell, Watlington Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Coming into force: 8 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of Thames Water utility repair and maintenance works which are anticipated to be completed 16 June 2026. This is a 24 hour daily road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Wallingford Road near Melhuish Farm and Donkathon. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via Wallingford Road, A4130, Long Wittenham Road, Wallingford Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

One Way Traffic

Date of Order: 1 June 2026

Coming into force: 8 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of essential gas main replacement work which is anticipated to take 7 days to be completed.

The effect of the Order, by narrowing the roads, is to temporarily direct vehicles via One Way in Orchard Way southwards from Ormond Road to Trinder Road and going eastwards.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works.

The alternative route for affected traffic will be signed locally.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Date of Order: 1 June 2026

Coming into force: 5 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of essential electrical maintenance works which is anticipated to take 3 weeks to complete.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the section of Allder Close between Nos.20 & 45.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

There is no diversion for this closure as the closure is on dead end, but the access will be maintained for local residents.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Clifton Hampden Parish, A4074

Date of Order: 15 June 2026

Coming into force: 25 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of excavations for cabling works as part of electricity network upgrade, and which are to be completed 5 July 2026. This is a 24 hour daily speed limit reduction.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily reduce traffic speed to 30mph from the B4015 Golden Balls roundabout southwards to a point approx. 300 metres from the entrance to Burcot Farm Cottages.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

Coming into force: 22 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of jetting and CCTV of drainage system which is anticipated to take 10 days to be completed working between 09.30 and 15.30 hours.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the Wootton Village road to Boars Hill.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via Lamborough Hill – Fox Lane – Foxcombe Road – Berkeley Road – Jarn Way – Old Boars Hill and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

This Order is being introduced because of SSEN electrical maintenance works which are anticipated to be completed 21 August 2026. This is a 24 hour daily road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in that part of Windrush Closure between Nos. 1 and 14.

Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles, the Works and for access to property. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.

This Order is being introduced because of essential and urgent reconstruction of the ‘Byway Open to all Traffic’ which is anticipated to take 14 weeks to be completed.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part on the BOAT 373/9/30 at Hobby Horse Lane.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the Works.

The diversion route is north via Wallingford Way.

Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

The order will remain in force for 6 months or until the works are complete whichever is the sooner.
