(PARK STREET, AMPTHILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Park Street, Ampthill outside number 22.

This temporary closure is required to enable atplas repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 7 July. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Park Hill, B530, Bedford Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Barton Road, Pulloxhill from the side of Collage Barn to s/0 The Hay Wain.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement and cabling works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 14 July between the hours of 0800 and 1800.

The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Flitton Rd, Silsoe Rd, Ampthill Rd, High St, Barton Rd, A6, Barton Rd and Vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Gravenhurst outside number 24.

This temporary closure is required to enable defect repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 16 to 18 June 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Campton rd, Greenway, A507, Clophill Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 16 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Biggleswade Road, Upper Caldecote between Marshalls Way and the A1.

This temporary closure is required to enable cabling and jointing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 18 June 2026. Between the hours of 0930 and 1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via A1, Bedford Rd, Hitchin Rd, Brook End, Vinegar Hill, Biggleswade Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 18 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 29 May 2026 under Section 26 of the Highways Act 1980 will create Public Bridleway No. 38, Ridgmont.

The length of Bridleway No. 38, Ridgmont to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 18, Ridgmont at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9761 3696 in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 117 meters to OS GR SP 9754 3687 then continues in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 427 metres alongside the A507 to OS GR SP 9716 3705 then continues in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 27 metres to OS GR SP 9714 3706 then continues in a generally westerly direction for approximately 266 metres alongside the A507 to OS GR SP 9690 3711 then continues in a generally northerly direction for approximately 23 metres to OS GR SP 9689 3713 then continues in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 89 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9681 3717.

The new length of bridleway has a width of 4 metres between OS GR SP 9761 3696 and OS GR SP 9714 3706 and a width of 3 metres between OS GR SP 9714 3706 and OS GR SP 9681 3717.

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 29 May 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert part of Public Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont.

The length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont to be stopped up extends from its junction with the highway land adjacent to the B5704 and to the north of the M1 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9677 3709 in a generally east-south-easterly then north-westerly direction for approximately 153 metres to OS GR SP 9678 3712 then continues in a northerly direction for approximately 61 metres over the Ridgmont Bypass to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9680 3718.

The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont to be created extends from its junction with Mill Road, the B5704 at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9675 3711 in a generally east-south-easterly then west-north-westerly direction for approximately 163 metres up the approach ramps to OS GR SP 9679 3711 then continues in a generally northerly direction for approximately 68 metres across a bridleway bridge over the Ridgmont Bypass to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 38, Ridgmont and an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9681 3717. The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres.

The effect of the order will be to stop up part of the Footpath No. 18, Ridgmont and part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont and create Bridleway No. 39, Ridgmont and Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont as alternative bridleways instead. The length of Footpath No. 18, Ridgmont to be stopped up extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 4, Ridgmont and Bridleway No. 18, Ridgmont at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9760 3697 in a northerly direction for approximately 279 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Footpath No. 18, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9754 3724.

The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont to be stopped up extends from its junction with Station Road at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9669 3724 in a generally easterly then southerly direction for approximately 165 metres to OS GR SP 9680 3718 then continues in an east-south-easterly direction for approximately 100 metres to OS GR SP 9690 3714 then continues in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 276 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9699 3740.

The bridleway is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Bridleway No. 39, Ridgmont to be created extends from its junction with Bridleway No. 1, Ridgmont at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9765

3724 in a west-south-westerly direction for approximately 56 metres to OS GR SP 9760 3722 then continues in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 62 metres to its junction with Footpath No. 18, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9754 3724 then continues in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 289 metres to OS GR SP 9727 3733 then continues in a generally south-westerly direction for approximately 47 metres to OS GR SP 9724 3729 then continues in a generally westnorth-westerly direction for approximately 284 metres to terminate at its junction with Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9699 3740.

The new route of the bridleway has a width of 4 metres between OS GR SP 9765 3724 and OS GR SP 9724 3729 and a width of 5 metres between OS GR SP 9724 3729 and OS GR SP 9699 3740.

The first length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont to be created extends from its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont and Bridleway No. 38, Ridgmont at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9681 3717 in a generally northerly then westerly direction for approximately 137 metres to OS GR SP 9672 3723 then continues in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 91 metres to OS GR SP 9675 3732 then continues in a generally north-north-westerly direction for approximately 79 metres to OS GR SP 9672 3739 then continues in a generally north-north-easterly direction for approximately 165 metres to OS GR SP 9680 3753 then continues in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 238 metres to terminate at its junction with an unaffected part of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont and Bridleway No. 39, Ridgmont at OS GR SP 9699 3740.

The second length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont extends from OS GR SP 9672 3723 in a westerly direction for approximately 18 metres to terminate at its junction with Station Road at OS GR SP 9670 3723.

The third length of Bridleway No. 2, Ridgmont extends from OS GR SP 9680 3753 in a generally west-north-westerly direction for approximately 92 metres to terminate at a public vehicle parking area at OS GR SP 9672 3756.

The new routes of the bridleway have a width of 4 metres except for a width of 5 metres between OS GR SP 9680 3753 and OS GR SP 9699 3740.

The three Orders above relate to public rights of way affected by or surrounding the land affected by planning application CB/22/02213/OUT from Prologis UK Ltd. at Marston Gate, which includes storage and distribution facilities, ancillary office accommodation, HGV and recreational parking and associated landscaping. The first two orders are made under the Highways Act 1980 and the third order is made under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. Copies of the Orders and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Central Bedfordshire Council Highways, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Representations and objections must include either a postal or e mail address. Any representations or objections made will be in the public domain and will be available for viewing/copying by members of the public.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Central Bedfordshire Council may confirm the Orders as unopposed Orders. If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Orders and will be made publicly available by either the Council or the Planning Inspectorate.
