The above Orders, made on 28 May 2026, under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, will divert parts of Public Footpaths LA2/32 and LA2/31 in the Parish of Backwell within the District of North Somerset.

Order No.4 2026 Public Footpath LA2/32. From: point A (grid ref ST48074 68536) north to point F (grid point ST48076 68733) as shown by a black solid line on map no. PPO219. Total length to be diverted 202m. To: the new route is to start at point A (grid point ST48074 68536) running first northwesterly approximately 5m to point B (grid point ST48071 68540) then north approximately 76m to point C (grid point ST48071 68616) then north approximately 54m through point C1 (grid point ST48071 68637) to point D (grid point ST48071 68670) then north northeasterly approximately 45m to point E (grid point ST48077 68714) then north northwesterly for 18m to point F (grid point ST48076 68733) as shown by a black broken line on map no. PPO219. Total length new route 198m. The new surface will be tarmacked and be a width of 2m from Point A to C1 and 3m from C1 to F.

Order No.5 2026 Public Footpath LA2/31. From: point A (grid ref ST48173 68695) southeasterly to point D (grid point ST48214 68672) as shown by a black solid line on map no. PPO220. Total length to be diverted 49m. To: the new route is firstly to start at point A (grid point ST48173 68695) running south southeasterly approximately 11m to point B (grid point ST48175 68685) then easterly approximately 18m through point C (grid point ST48193 68683) then southeasterly approximately 24m to point D (grid point ST48214 68672) and secondly to start at point A (grid point ST48173 68695) to run west northwesterly to point A1 (grid point ST48169 68698) a distance of approximately 5m as shown by a black broken line on map no. PPO220. Total length new route 58m. The new surface will be tarmacked from point A to point D and have a width of 2 metres.

Diversion of Part of Public Footpath LA22/6, Rippleside Road, Clevedon, North Somerset

Public Path Diversion Order No.2 2026

On 21 May 2026 North Somerset Council confirmed the above Order, made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert that part of Public Footpath LA 22/6, Rippleside Road, Clevedon, North Somerset within the Parish of Clevedon within the District of North Somerset. LA 22/6: from point A (grid ref. ST 41308 72030) running in an east southeasterly direction to point D (grid ref. ST 41345 72017) as shown by a continuous black line on map PPO221. A total distance of approximately 40m.

To a footpath from point A (grid ref. ST 41308 72030) running in a southerly direction to point B (grid ref. ST 41309 72025) then east northeasterly direction to point C (grid ref. ST 41340 72035) then in a south southeasterly direction to point D (grid ref. ST 41345 72017) as shown by a bold broken line on map PPO221. A total distance of approximately 56m. The proposed route will have a width of 2.5m.

Alternative routes - Walton Street and Down Road - B3214 Clevedon Road, Valley Road and vice-versa.

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing and will become operative on 3 July 2026, anticipated to be of 1 day. Work will take place between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Alternative routes - Lampton Road - Fenhurst Gardens, Bradville Gardens, Lampton Road (part unaffected), Lovelinch Gardens and vice-versa.
