(TEMPORARY PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY CLOSURE) CONTINUATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”) has made an Order which will continue to prohibit the use of the Parish of Heddon-on-the-Wall Public Bridleway Number 24, in the County of Northumberland.
The Council made an order named the “Northumberland County Council (Parish of Heddon-on-the-Wall Public Bridleway Number 24 (Temporary Public Bridleway Closure) Order 2025) on the 3rd December 2025 (“the 2025 Order”) due to works being carried out, the Council are satisfied that the bridleway should continue to be restricted as works continue around the bridleway to facilitate building work at Loudside Farm.
The Secretary of State approved an extension of the 2025 Order on the 20th May 2026 and has approved a continuation of the prohibition until the 8th June 2028 or until completion of the works. The route is described as follows:
Parish of Heddon-on-the-Wall Public Bridleway Number 24
From a point 315 metres south of Loudside Farmhouse in a northerly direction for a distance of 375 metres to a point on the U9037 road 35 metres north of Loudside Farmhouse.
There is an alternative route available from a point 315 metres south of Loudside Farmhouse in a northerly direction for a distance of 380 metres to a point 55 metres north-east of Loudside Farmhouse.
The Order shall continue the prohibition from the 8th June 2026 until the 8th June 2028.
The continuation has been requested by the Cheeseburn Estate, due to the likelihood of danger to the public, to facilitate building work at Loudside Farm.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
U8194 NEWTON HALL TO STELLING HALL NEWTON
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U8194 Newton Hall To Stelling Hall from its junction with C247 Stelling Hall To Military Road heading in a south westwards direction for a distance of 650 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 17th June 2026 until the 19th June 2026.
It is expected that the road will only be closed on the 17th June 2026 between the hours of 09:00 & 17:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 19th June 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via C247, C246, C251, U8194 and vice versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Total Resources for tree trimming to achieve a vegetation safety clearance from the overhead electrical supply network. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
U17 CHESWICK JUNCTION TO GOSWICK, CHESWICK
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U17 Cheswick Junction to Goswick 7 metres north eastwards from its junction with Goswick Station Cottages heading in a north eastwards direction for a distance of 52 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 16th June 2026 until the 17th June 2026. It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th June 2026 until the 17th June 2026 between the hours of 23:00 and 08:30.
There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic.

The closure has been requested by Chevron Traffic Management to lift and pack the level crossing. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

RUN NORTHUMBERLAND BAMBURGH 10K
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”)and all other enabling powers, has on the 27 May 2026 made the Northumberland County Council Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10k Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026 (“the TTRO”).
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10k (“the Event”)by restricting traffic on the B1340 Front Street from its junction with The Wynding heading in a south westerly direction for a length of 237 metres, the C64 Ingram Road from its junction with the B1340 heading in a southerly direction for a length of 2,035 metres, the U2017 Burton Farm junction to New Shoreston junction from its junction with the C64 heading in a westerly direction for a length of 665 metres, the U2009 Elford junction to Budle Bay junction from its junction with the U2017 heading in a southerly direction for a length of 1,800 metres, the C65 Rayheugh junction to North Sunderland junction from its junction with the U2009 heading in an easterly direction for a length of 1,500 metres, the C64 Springhill junction to Ingram Lane from its junction with the C65 heading in a northerly direction for a length of 1800 metres (“the Road”).
The TTRO shall come into force at 10:00 hours on 14 June 2026 and will remain in force until 12:30 hours on 14 June 2026, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act.
There will be no alternative route available for the duration of the TTRO as the Road will be reopened as the Event passes through.
All restrictions on the Road will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary. Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Road related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer ora Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Road); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Road.
