On 28 May 2026 Shropshire Council made an order to make the following changes to the speed limits in Forton Heath:

Commencing from a point located 250-metres in a south-westerly direction from its junction with C1047 to a point located 325-metres in a southerly direction from its junction with U1701 Broomfield Lane

Commencing from its junction with C1061 to a point located 270-metres in a north-westerly direction
50mph Speed Limit

Commencing from a point located 250-metres in a south-westerly direction from its junction with U1909 Mytton Lane (adjacent to ‘Ataka’) to a point located 325-metres in a southerly direction from its junction with U1701 Broomfield Lane

From its junction with C1061 (outside
‘Ataka’) to a point located 100- metres in a north-easterly direction.

From a point located 449-metres in a generally northerly direction from its junction with B4380 Holyhead Road to a point located 225-metres in a south-westerly direction from its junction with U1909 Mytton Lane (adjacent to ‘Ataka’).

Any existing speed limits at the above locations will be revoked.
These changes will come into effect on 5 June 2026.
A copy of the order may be examined during normal office hours (8:45am- 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:45am-4:00pm on Fridays) at Shropshire Council, The Guildhall, Frankwell, Shrewsbury.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or any provisions in it, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from 28 May 2026, apply for that purpose to the High Court.
