PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE
ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council intend, not less than
seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary
Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to be executed on or
near the road and the effect will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that
length of Doncaster Road at Hickleton in the City of Doncaster District as
described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates and times referred to in the
said Schedule.
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst
works for carriageway patching are undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order
is as described in the Schedule to this notice.

The Proposed Order will continue in force up to and including the 31st day of July
2026 or until the works which it is proposed to carry out in or near the said road
have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed
within the stated time the Order may be continued in force with the approval of
the Secretary of State for Transport. (PO524)
SCHEDULE
Location
Doncaster Road, Hickleton from its junction with Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe to
a point 84m east of its junction with Red Hill Lane.
Dates and Times
08:00hrs 14th June 2026 until 18:00hrs 21st June 2026. To be carried out in
sections over a series of Sundays and night times.
1) Sunday works only 08:00hrs and 8:00hrs
2) Night works only from 15th June 2026 until 18th June 2026 between
20:00hrs and 06:00hrs
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather conditions, the
closure may extend beyond this date although all closures to be completed by the
31st July 2026
Diversion Routes
i) Lidget Lane, The Windings, Barrowfield Road, Fields End Roundabout,
Dearne Valley parkway and vice versa
ii) Barnsley Road, York Road, Wakefield Road, Hemsworth A1 Link Road,
Sprockhoevel Way, Hemsworth Bypass, Engine Lane, Park Spring Road,
Rotherham Road, Doncaster Road, Dearne Valley Parkway and vice versa
