What is happening?

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN RESPECT
OF SURFACE TREATMENT WORKS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an
Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding
on the following stretches of road:
l Vaughan Road closed from its junction with New Street to its junction with Hill Road. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 13 June 2026 and
20 June 2026, and also for one day between 27 June 2026 and 4 July 2026, between
the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: North Bound: New Street,
Willenhall Road, Hill Road and vice versa. Vehicular Diversion Route: South Bound:
Hill Road, Arnhem Road, Mount Road, Dilloways Lane and vice versa.
l Spring Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure
will operate for one day between 13 June 2026 and 20 June 2026, and also for one day
between 27 June 2026 and 4 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Birmingham New Road, Parkfield Road and vice versa.
l Old Heath Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the
closure will operate for one day between 13 June 2026 and 20 June 2026, and also for
one day between 27 June 2026 until 4 July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and
17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Willenhall Road, Deans Road vice versa.
l Manor Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure
will operate for one day between 13 June 2026 and 20 June 2026, and also for one day
between 27 June 2026 and 4 July 2026, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
Vehicular Diversion Route: Spring Road, Birmingham New Road, Parkfield Road and
vice versa.
l Stowheath Lane closed from its junction with Wellington Road to its junction with
Willenhall Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
13 June 2026 and 20 June 2026, and also for one day between 27 June 2026 and
4July2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. Vehicular Diversion Route:
NorthBound: Willenhall Road, Moseley Road, Willenhall Road, Mount Pleasant and
Wellington Road and vice versa. Vehicular Diversion Route: South Bound: BilstonRoad
(A41), Bilston St Island, Middle Cross, Horseley Fields, Lower Horseley Fields and
Willenhall Road and vice versa.
l Tettenhall Road closed from its junction with Chapel Ash to its junction with
HenwoodRoad. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
14 June 2026 and 21 June 2026, and also for one day between 28 June 2026 and
5July2026, between the hours of 06:00 and 09:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: (A41,
A464, A442, A458, A454) The Rock, Wergs Road, Holyhead Road, Newport Road,
Holyhead Road, Park Street, Market Place, Victoria Road, Priorslee Road,
Castle Farm Interchange, Naird Roundabout, Randlay Roundabout, Queensway,
Stirchley Roundabout, Queensway, Brockton Way. Brockton Roundabout,
Bridgnorth Road, Mill Street, Cann Hall Road, Hospital Lane, Kidderminster Road,
Bridgnorth Bypass, Stourbridge Road, Bridgnorth Road, Compton Road West,
Compton Road, and vice versa.
l Cannock Road closed from its junction with Bridge Street to its junction with Park Lane
and Old Fallings. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between
14 June 2026 and 21 June 2026, and also for one day between 28 June 2026 and
5July2026, between the hours of 06:00 and 09:00. Vehicular Diversion Route:
StaffordStreet, Stafford Road, M54, Cannock Road and vice versa.
l Thorneycroft Lane closed from its junction with Bushbury Road to its junction with
Prestwood Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day from
14 June 2026 until 21 June 2026, and also for one day between 28 June 2026 and
5July 2026, between the hours of 09:00 and 13:00. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Prestwood Road, Prestwood Road West, Long Knowle Lane, Blackhalve Lane,
Cannock Road, Bushbury Road and vice versa.
l Prestwood Road West closed in its entirety. It is anticipated that the closure will operate
for one day from 14 June 2026 until 21 June 2026, and also from 28 June 2026 until
5July 2026, between the hours of 09:00 and 13:00. Vehicular Diversion Route:
Long Knowle Lane, Blackhalve Lane, Cannock Road, Bushbury Road,
ThorneycroftLane and vice versa.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that
the works will be undertaken between the dates detailed above, between the times
specified.
The Order is required to facilitate surface treatment works.
