THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(WHARF STREET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting pedestrians from proceeding on proceeding on
Wharf Street footways from the junction with Duke Street to
outside properties 1 and 2, both sides.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of six
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken from 15 June 2026 until 19 June 2026.
Pedestrian Diversion Route: Wharf Street, York Street,
Walsall Street and vice versa or Wharf Street, York Street,
Sharrocks Street, Duke Street and vice versa.
The Order is required to facilitate the installation of high
voltage electrical ducting by National Grid (Electricity
Distribution).
