(HOUGHTON ROAD/MAYER WAY, HOUGHTON REGIS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Houghton Road, Houghton Regis between Townsend Farm Rd to Douglas Crescent and Mayer Road, Houghton Regis at the junction only.
This temporary closure is required to enable civils and resurfacing work with paco and lining to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 29 June to 10 July 2026. Between the hours of 2000 and 0700hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B5120, A5, A505, B5120 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Caddington outside Badgers Holt.
This temporary closure is required to enable tree work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2026. Between the hours of 0900 and 1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via Woodside Rd, Manor Rd and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 29 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Higham Gobion Rd, Barton le clay between A6 and Weshy Manor and Windsor Rd, Barton Le Clat at the junction with Higham Gobion Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable S278 for new Taylor Wimpey housing development. Works including: Construction of roundabout; Laying of new services; Footpath widening and resurfacing; Carriageway alterations and resurfacing to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 15 June to 18 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
Windsor Road will only be closed for approx. 1 week within this time frame and dates will be signed on site.
Access to the school/Nursery will be maintained throughout.
The alternative route will be via Higham Gobion Rd - Hanscombe End Rd, Aspley End Rd, B655, Bedford Rd and vice versa.
Windsor Rd – Windsor Rd, Norman Rd, Manor Rd, B655 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 15 June 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
