What is happening?

 THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

LODGE LANE LEVEL CROSSING, GOWDALL

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along Lodge Lane Level Crossing, Gowdall and 20 metres either side of the level crossing commencing 28 June 2026 at 22.30 hours until 29 June 2026 at 05.30 hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed Lodge Lane Level Crossing, Gowdall annual level crossing testing works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed within seven hours. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Main Street, Field Lane, Newby Lane and Lodge Lane, Gowdall CP, Snaith, Airmyn, Rawcliffe and Marshland Ward.

The road will be closed to all through traffic and pedestrians however access will be maintained for emergency vehicles. The Order will commence 28 June 2026 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
