(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. C4018 Gosforth, from its junction with Low Lennin and the access track to the property known as Julian Holme, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 440m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the unrestricted sections of the C4018 Lane Side, C4019, Nether Wasdale, C4025, Santon Bridge and C4026 Whitecroft and Wasdale Road.
Duration: From 25 June 2026 for approx. 1 day between 1900 and 2300 hours (Ref: TTROC/18472)
2. U4298 Wellington Row, Whitehaven, from its junction with High Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 100m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Wellington Row, Hilton Terrace, Victoria Road, the A595, the A5094, Bransty Row and George Street.
Duration: From 28 July 2026 for approx. 3 days between 0930 and 1530 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/18758)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 25 June 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
