NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act and all other enabling powers, proposes to make the Wigan Borough Council (Tuckers Hill Brow and Meadow Pit Lane, Aspull) (40 MPH Speed Restriction) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke a speed limit of 60 miles per hour and impose a speed limit of 40 miles per hour, on the following roads:
• Tuckers Hill Brow, Aspull from its junction with Meadow Pit Lane to its junction with Little Scotland
• Meadow Pit Lane, Aspull from its junction with Riley Lane to its junction with Tuckers Hill Brow

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.632) Order 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted loading on Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm on:
• Sandy Lane, Orrell (Both sides) from its junction with St James Road to a point 25 metres east of its junction with St James Road
• St James Road, Orrell (East side) from its junction with Sandy Lane to a point 15 metres north of its junction with Sandy Lane
• Gantley Road, Orrell (East side) from its junction with Sandy Lane to a point 8 metres south of its junction with Sandy Lane.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Smithy Glen Drive, Billinge) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026 which will come into operation on 25 th June 2026.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven on Smithy Glen Drive, Billinge on 25th June 2026 between 09:30 and 15:30 only.
Please note that access will be maintained for residents where possible.
The Order is necessary to allow cabling and tree cutting.
