What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – BLUE BALL HILL & BEGGARS LANE, WINCHESTER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.

ROADS TO BE CLOSED:

1. Blue Ball Hill between its junction with St John Street and its junction with Chester Road.

2. Beggars Lane between its junction with Blue Ball Hill and its junction with St Martins Close.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:

1. Water Lane, Durngate, North Walls, Upper Brook Street, Friarsgate, Eastgate Street, High Street, Bridge Street, St Johns Street.

2. N/A

DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 8th June 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 4 days and this order will be in operation 24 hours a day).

The Temporary Road Closures has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Centercomms Ltd to complete excavation works.
