Notice is given that the Department for Infrastructure (DfI)
made on 20th May 2026 a Direction to continue in force the
above experimental scheme, which prohibits vehicles from
using Hill Street, Belfast and operates a one-way system on
Gordon Street, Belfast for a period of 6 months from
4th June 2026. Copies of the Direction may be obtained
from 3rd Floor-Area A, James House, Gasworks Site,
2-4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast or viewed online at
www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/publications

WAITING RESTRICTIONS
– BEDFORD STREET,
BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a
Statutory Rule entitled “The Waiting Restrictions (Bedford
Street, Belfast) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026”, (S.R. 2026
No. 95), which comes into operation on
3rd September 2026.
The Rule will prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (loading
and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Bedford Street,
Belfast. The Rule will also amend the item relating to
Bedford Street in the On-Street Parking Order
(Northern Ireland) 2000. Vehicles are excepted from the
prohibition in certain circumstances.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office
hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) by
appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by

CONTROL OF TRAFFIC –
DURHAM STREET,
BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a
Statutory Rule entitled “The Control of Traffic (Durham
Street, Belfast) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026”, (S.R. 2026
No. 97), which comes into operation on 15th June 2026.
The Rule will provide cycle lanes and cycle tracks on
lengths of Albert Street, College Square North, and Durham
Street, Belfast and prohibit vehicles waiting at any time
(loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of College
Square North and Durham Street, Belfast.
The Rule will also revoke certain existing provisions
for cycle lanes and cycle tracks and no waiting at any
time prohibitions.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office
hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) by
appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by
