(Temporary Public rights of Way Closure) Order 2025

The above-named Order made by the Council on 28/3/2025, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 14/4/2025 and was subsequently extended to 31/5/2026 has been continued in force from 1/6/2026, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 1/12/2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of footpath and bridleway.

Footpath closure - Footpath Number 8, Great Aycliffe Parish: An 820 metre length that extends generally south westward from the road A167.

Bridleway closure - Bridleway Number 10, Great Aycliffe Parish: A 1.04 kilometre length that extends southwards from the east-west section of Footpath Number 11, south of the Industrial Estate to Bridleway 4, Coatham Mundeville Parish at the county boundary to enable new site development works to be undertaken. Alternative routes will be signed on site during the works, once available
