What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF SANDWELL

The A34 (Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell) (Red Route)

(Amendment Order 1) 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of Sandwell (“the Council”) proposes to make the above named Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act.

The effect of this Order would be to amend ‘SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL The A34 (Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell) (Red Route) Order 2009 (“the 2009 Order”) as follows:

a. Remove all ‘Bus Stop Clearways’ from the legal order.

A copy of the proposed Order, together with plans showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury, West Midlands, B69 3DE during usual opening hours or online at www.sandwell.gov.uk (by following Road, travel and parking – Roads, highways and pavements – Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) from the homepage).

Any representations to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to Parking Services, Highways, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, PO Box 2374, Oldbury, B69 3DE or emailed to parking_tro@sandwell.gov.uk and be received no later than 19th June 2026
