What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE (EXHIBITION ROAD) 2026

The Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea give notice that they have made a Temporary Traffic Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Schedule 1 Section 16 (1)(a) and all other enabling powers prohibiting motorised vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below.

Exhibition Road to be closed from its junction with Cromwell Road to its junction with Prince Consort Road.

The road is to be closed for a special event.

The restrictions will come into force from 08.00hrs on Friday 5th June 2026 until 22.00hrs on Sunday 7th June 2026.

Diverted through traffic may use Thurloe Place, Cromwell Place, Harrington Road, Queen's Gate, Prince Consort Road, Exhibition Road. Or Exhibition Road, Prince Consort Road, Queen's Gate, Cromwell Road, or Harrington Road, Cromwell Place, Thurloe Place.

Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to:
- anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform.

- Anything done in connection with the execution of said works
